How come I can do this with my left hand only, but not with my right hand?

It's not unusual for tendons to be joined or connected to each other. It's just a variation in development. I cannot bend my thumb without bending my index finger, too, no matter how hard I hold it, but I can use my other hand to bend my thumb all by itself..
